Realy nice intro.
I like the better dynamic by lower loudnes but I would amplify the intro or set a (only) slight compression on the master. Be carefull with the last named method.
In my oppinion, the clap/snare needs a static reverb with a short decay and a wet on ~15-20%. The hat is clear enough to bring a dry and clear sound into the track.

Thanks for the review, I agree with with all you said. It's a pretty "old" music now, I had not much experience in music production (nor in musicology btw) at this time.
